Members of Nigeria Youth 4 Peace Initiative (NY4PI) participated at a youth leadership training organized by United Action for Change (UAC). The three-day event which ran from 16th -19th November, 2016 was held at the Federal College of Education, Akoka-Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria.

The training which brought more than 100 youth across all the local government in Lagos State is part of UAC programme to engage and empower youth so as to contribute to the ”Change Nigeria” project.

Nigerian Youth 4 Peace Initiative (NY4PI) was represented at the training by its National Coordinator, Lawal Rafiu Adeniran and a representative from Lagos Chapter, Miss Emmanuella Uche

The training which was tagged ‘’Dynamic Youth and National Rebirth’’ was declared open by the Convener of United Action for Change, Dr Muiz Banire (SAN). While delivering his opening remarks, Dr Banire (SAN) commended the efforts of the planning committee for coming up with such training at this point in time and also charged youth to play prominent role(s) in transforming the nation.

Facilitators at the event included Prof. Pat Utomi, Dr. Garba Abari, Miss Victoria Ibiwoye, Mr AbdurRahman Lekki, Mr Olanrewaju Suraj, Mr Kola Osinowo, Mr Ayoade Adeyemi, Mr Adekunle Shobajo, Mr Olateju Oyalakin (Teju babayface), Tobi Akinnike and a host of others.

After the closing ceremony, participants went for an outreach in Mende, Maryland, where they assisted in cleaning the environment and also provided residents with free medical and legal assistance.
